In response to a dream in the book Einstein's Dreams

It is nights like this
when the halls of my heart
are filled with moonlit sonatas
and a numbing ache

that all I want
is to be next to you
watch you sleep
and be the first thing you see
when morning comes.

To remind you
that if our lives repeat themselves
we’ll always find each other,
beautifully, over and over again.

But tonight, all I have
is a beer in my hand
these words in my head
and no way of knowing
how to fix us.
